A viral image of a "magical lady" causes terror and panic in the Tumu region.

People in the region of Tumu and Sissala have been thrown into a state of terror and anxiety as a result of an image that has gone popular on social media and purports to show a lady who has magical powers.

The theory that the lady in the photo held the magical ability to touch people and disappear with them has been debunked as part of the mystery surrounding the picture thanks to the increased level of security in the Sissala East region.

This comes after days and weeks of anxiety induced by the claimed presence of the lady in the Sissala District, which discouraged the majority of residents from going to their fields due to the threat posed by her presence.

A few parents went so far as to prevent their children from attending school.

The lady in question may be seen strolling while carrying a bag of cargo while also clutching a long stick in an image that has gone viral and was spotted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA). She is shown here wearing a sweater and, on top of it, a cover cloth.

The accompanying photo includes an audio clip with a person speaking in the Sissali language that warns locals not to let the elderly lady carry her weight if she asks for assistance.

On October 9, 2022, individuals in Sakai, Kowie, and the Tumu township inadvertently recognized a lady called Tabsoba as the subject of the viral photo that was circulating at the time. Tabsoba's identity was given to the wrong person.

A thronging mob pursued her all the way to the Ghanaian and Burkinabe borders in the Sissala East region.

She talked in the Moshie language via an interpreter as she was being questioned by security personnel, headed by Chief Superintendent William Essah of the Ghana Immigration Service near the Tumu border. She revealed that her name was Madam Tabsoba.

Tabsoba is quoted as saying the following to Chief Supt Essah, according to the Ghana News Agency (GNA): "I came to Ghana via Hamile during the agricultural season to Wa and trekked for 20 days to Tumu from Wa seeking for what I would eat."

She informed a group of security personnel at the border, "Everywhere, I reached and required water to wash or drink, I got beaten for reasons I do not know."

During the search that was made on her, Chief Supt. Essah said that she did not have any type of identification card on her person; however, she did have clothing, soap, flour, and a pail for washing.

She responded with a sarcastic chuckle and a denial when she was questioned about the widespread belief that anybody who touched her would instantly disappear.

She made it clear that she wanted to go to the Leo community in Burkina Faso, and the persons in charge of security accommodated her request by granting her permission to do so.

After she recounted her harrowing experience to the border patrol agents, some kind souls gave her some financial assistance, while others made sure she had enough to eat before they crossed into Leo.

After she recounted her pitiful tale to the guards at the border, the kind citizens there helped her out by giving her some money and providing her with food before they crossed into Leo.

Chief Superintendent Essah said that Tabsoba's stance gives the impression that she had mental difficulties and asked the general public to refrain from spreading rumors, particularly those that are incorrect about those who are vulnerable.

He encouraged the locals to continue with their daily activities, including farming, since the image and the voice that accompanied it were both a hoax.

In the meanwhile, Mr. Alfred Kutajera, the Manager of Nabina Radio in Navrongo, has denied that he has ever heard of a missing elderly woman from Navrongo, which is where the tape is supposed to have originated.

According to statements made to the GNA by residents of the settlements of Jeffissi, Pulima, Lilixia, and Kandia located in Sissala West, the image that has gone viral has intimidated them and kept them from going to their fields.
