An Ashanti Regional Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress has stated that if the New Patriotic Party moves into opposition, the NDC will investigate and punish President Akufo-Addo.
Abass Nurudeen, a member of the National Democratic Congress, has stated that God will not forgive his party if they spare the President in any circumstance, even if he is confined to a wheelchair.
It is his contention that the President and his Vice President, along with other members of the NPP, have misled the entire nation with regard to the effort to combat galamsey.
On Friday, October 7, 2022, during an episode of GhanAkoma on Akoma FM, Mr. Nurudeen stated that the millions of dollars that had been wasted on the issue were a scheme to distract people away from the practice and empower others in the NPP to participate in the criminal activity.
The accusations that were hurled between the former Minister of Environment, Innovation and Technology, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, and the Central Regional 1st Vice Chair of the party, Ekow Ewusi, are a clear indication that the NPP have taken the center stage in perpetuating the illegal act, as beckoned by him.
