George Mireku Duker, a Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has vehemently denied allegations that he is involved in illegal mining, also known as galamsey. These allegations have been made against him.
This comes as a result of allegations that were made by Nana Nyonwah Panyin IV, a sub-chief of Dompim-Pepesa in Tarkwa, located in the Western Region.
According to the Chief, Mr. Duker, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, was in possession of a galamsey concession in the region.
Nevertheless, in an interview with Citi News, Mr. Duker stated that he has never participated in galamsey.

I am also aware that this is part of an effort to distract you from the strategy so that they can have an easy time of it in the future. As a result, we will not give in. We will make every effort to ensure that the appropriate action is taken.
